LASALLE @ one macnally street

Located near Sim Lim Square is the new campus of Lasalle - College of the Arts.

Its unique architecture caught my eye.
Pictures were from a week back.

BUKIT TIMAH NATURE RESERVE

During the middle of the week, Ah Peng jio'ed me to go for a hike up Bukit Timah Hill on Sunday.
I'm not really a hiking kinda guy by I promptly agree anywhere since I've never been to the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve before.

Within the reserve, there's a hiking and biking trail.

Once I walked in from the main road, I was greeted by a bunch of monkeys.
I wonder how the residents cope with these pesky primates.

Most of the paths are made up of roots.

Some are stoney steps.

I saw an uncle sprained his foot while descending.
Luckily his family was with him.

These steps are a breeze to trek on.

Sorry Don for the blur pic, hands were a bit shakey.
BTW, what's that bulge in your shorts?! LOL

One of the better pathways.

While we were checking out the directions on the signboards along the route, an auntie told us that a certain route leads to a small waterfall.

And this is what we found......LOL.

More of a longkang than a waterfall.

Surprisingly, most of the monkeys hang around the early part of the public road that leads to the visitor centre instead of within the forest.

The various antenna stations which we saw along the routes.

Here's a map of the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.

We took the red route to reach the summit.
Then descend thru the orange route.
Along the way, we cut into the minor routes like North View Path, Seraya Loop, Kruing Path and Taban Loop.

After the morning hike, we went to the nearby Beauty World for the Hong Wen Mutton Soup.
The last time I had it was during my poly days.
It still taste as good.

[TGIF] TOYS, GAMES TRADING & THAI FOOD

Met up with probro for the usual Friday Meet & Eat session.
We walked around CSC looking for cheap 1/6 deals but there was none.
At an unlikely shop, we came across what could be a great deal for the cornflake revoltech eva weapons set.
Two boxes @ $18.
We went to counter check the typical pricing at a more trust worthy shop and found out that it was indeed a good deal.
So I hastily went back to grab the last two pairs of the weapons set for probro and myself.

Then we headed to the mac at chinatown point and muck around with our psp's web browser settings.
It takes a little setting up and getting use to.
Also passed him a set of ISOs.

We had dinner at an unknown Thai restuarant as we were attracted by the $4.90 signboard, LOL.

Thai Glass Noodle (Seafood)
Such a fancy name but it's just vermicelli.
Taste good though, comes with prawns, couple of rings of sotong and mushrooms.

Thai Fish Cake
It has got a spicy tom yam zing to it.

[BBB] SONY PSP Slim & Lite
Believe it or not, this is my first ever handheld console.

I'd always have the hots for a PSP.
You can use it to play games, listen to music, watch videos and store your photos.

Recently, Sony released the PSP Slim and its price difference from the older version (fat) PSP is only about $20.

Today, probro jio'ed me to SLS, I knew he wanted to get himself a flash diffuser.
I promptly offered to buy it for him as a birthday gift as it wasn't too expensive, haha.
And I thought that would be the end of my weekend spending......

Afterwards, probro was thinking of getting a DS Lite for his chick but was put off by the shop owner's crappy salesmanship and attitude.

So we turned out attention to the PSP.
Then in the spirit of togetherness, reliably good deals and impulsive buy buy buy......we headed off to AMK Hub's Funz Centre.

I have to comment on the Power and Hold button.
After switching to Hold mode, all buttons on the console are disabled.
But when you wanna switch back to normal mode (centre position), you might just accidentally switch off your PSP if you push the slider switch beyond the centre position.

The LCD is clear and you can adjust the brightness to 4 different levels.

4GB of storage to satisfy my gaming needs.

The overall contents of the package.

------------------------------ Updates 26 Sept 07 ------------------------------

You can use the PSP to surf the web......yay.

I've also made a PSP sock for my console, using......a sock......LOL.
For that added protection, I 'm using two socks(one over the other).

You need to own a PSP Slim & Lite to be COOL!
